Village Hotel Swansea ★★★

The facilities are fab , food very good and the village has a nice atmosphere.

We liked the comfortable bed, nice interior of our hotel room, spacious bathroom. We enjoyed going in the swimming pool, saunas and jacuzzi. We liked the hotel has a Starbucks, we had breakfast in there.

Me and my daughter were disappointed to see the scaffolding right in front of our hotel room window. I am not happy I was not informed about the scaffolding prior to booking. It is not a pretty sight to see scaffolding right in front of our hotel room window. So I just closed the curtains. We didn't like the bar/restaurant area, it is too loud for a hotel, there are too many televisions showing football on a loud volume, with very loud guests drinking too much alcohol. It is not relaxing to sit in the bar/ restaurant area with all that noise. We tried to order room service for food because we didn't like the loud bar/restaurant area. But it would not let me type words to submit my order. This must be a technical error. It would have been nice to provide bottles of mineral water, as we don't drink instant coffee & tea. An accessible tap for guests to refill their water bottles would be great. The other guests on the 3rd floor were noisy, talking loudly to each other on the corridor and banging doors, which we could hear very clearly and disturbed our relaxation.

Could hear everything and everyone in their room. There was no main light in my room, the only light we had was from a lamp

The staff were friendly and helpful

The room was comfortable, great bed and adequate space to work, the facilities of an iron and ironing board, tv and hairdryer are all appreciated when you travel a lot for work. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Scaffolding outside my window meant I had to keep the curtains drawn during my stay. The hotel was not to the usual standard of the Village Chain, however their staff made up for the slightly tired surroundings.

The=room size was fine and clean.

The noise from the bar kept me awake til the early hours of the=morning and the fire alarm went off at 4am by accident . The breakfast was okay but the staff shout loudly to each other in the restaurant which isn’t very professional

Comfy bed. Decent size room. Air con that works. Free parking on the weekend. Lovely staff. Went to an event in Singleton Park and needed somewhere for the night. This did the job at a decent price.

Looking a little tired in places but does the job and staff were lovely so made up for it.. Kitchen issue when we checked in so didn't book breakfast but then there is a Starbucks on site and a McDonald's 2mins up the road so it didn't bother us.

Outstanding in all ways , facilities, comfort everything in very easy reach. Really good stay and experience.

The location wasn't the best as it was quite tricky to get to for me.

Bar prices way too high, for our party of eleven it meant we drank elsewhere - shame :-(

Bar and grill area

No telephone in room. No glasses to rinse mouth in bathroom. No welcome pack in room to let you know what time breakfast is. Room service was delivered in plastic trays and payment was taken out of account without authorisation. Food was also cold.

Modern hotel with all the facilities that you will need. Free parking. Breakfast was alright too however, no hash browns or fried eggs!

Extra £5 charge for the gym which when i booked didnt state that. I was woken up by loud music from the gym at 6am in the morning which was not good. I was also given a room which was for disabled ppl. The breakfast was good but no hash browns or fried eggs.

Toilet in room not clean enough .walls scuffed and no pillow protectors on pillows .

Stayed twice in succeeding weekends due to a booking error (by me!). Access by road good, reception staff excellent, rooms had plenty of space and the bathrooms were well equipped and clean. The bed was too soft for me, but would suit a lighter person who is used to a mattress topper. Tea and coffee supply was a bit stingy, but there was more on a trolley near the lift. Breakfast was ordinary buffet style and just warm, but the coffee was ok. All in all, on par for this type of hotel.

The location is good for car access, but a bit "out-of-town" if one wishes to eat out or go shopping,so a car is needed to go anywhere. I didn't sample the evening food provision because I was visiting relatives, but it's there if you want it. Saturday evening is "big screen" night for the sports fans, so it's a bit busier.

Convenient location

A couple of days after I booked the room, I rang the hotel direct and Booking.com asking if there was a bed settee in our room. On both occassions I was told 'No'. I did ask if I could change for a larger room and I was told 'No'. Because I had paid in advance for the stay I could not change anything. On our arrival on Saturday there was a bed settee in the room - I was annoyed beause one member of the family had to stay at home because I was told that there was no bed settee in the room!!!!! The Jacuzzi was cold.

Easy to check in. Breakfast was good, although we got charged for a breakfast we didn't have!

Hotel was very busy the weekend we stayed. Long waits at the bar. Also very noisy, live music playing till early hours.

I have used the hotel many times over recent years and room was satisfactory as normal

After staying here many times it was disappointing that they have closed the restaurant. Only place to get food (and breakfast) is the bar. Bar was very busy and noisy the night I stayed (although football was on). Less likely I will stay here in future

Convenient location

Room service delivered incorrectly and cartons thrown in paper bag therefore food all tipped into each other . Not nice threw it away !
